9PM (HIST) The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch Astrophysicist Dr. Travis Taylor and his colleagues on the Skinwalker team undertake their most ambitious experiment yet at the Triangle in the new episode “Closer Encounters.” They have no idea what results they should expect, but although they’re braced for just about anything, what appears in the sky over Skinwalker Ranch leaves them all feeling shocked.

9PM (TLC) Little People, Big World Amy and Matt continue to rebuild a friendship in unexpected ways in a new episode called “Break in the Matrix.” As a surprise move creates even more new family challenges, Matt makes a decision that may change things forever for the extended Roloff clan. 10 PM ^ The Great Muslim American Road Trip This new three-episode docuseries follows a young Muslim American couple — rapper Mona Haydar and her husband, Sebastian Robins — as they explore historic Route 66 on the 2,500-mile drive from Chicago to Los Angeles. In addition to experiencing the breathtaking panoramas and roadside attractions along America’s “mother road,” Haydar and Robins also want to learn about Islam’s surprisingly deep roots in the United States. Tonight’s premiere takes them from Chicago to Joplin, Mo., a leg that causes some bumps in their relationship.
