Plenty has happened since Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band last toured together in 2016: a smash solo Broadway show, the “Western Stars” album and documentary film, the “Letter to You” album in 2020, a global pandemic.

But on Tuesday, Springsteen announced the U.S. dates for the E Street Band’s 2023 tour and Florida gets first dibs.

The Springsteen E Street Band 2023 Tour opens Feb. 1 in Tampa at Amalie Arena, followed by Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Feb. 3, then back to Florida for Orlando’s Amway Center on Feb. 5.

Our South Florida show is at the Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, which is yet another coup for the mid-sized, 7,000-seat venue in scoring a mega arena/stadium-sized act after recent concerts by Elton John and Paul McCartney in 2022.

Given the demand for tickets — especially at a smaller venue like Hard Rock Live — Ticketmaster has set up its Verified Fan program to give fans better access tickets and minimize scalpers. Register at verifiedfan.ticketmaster.com/springsteen by July 17.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. July 20.

The last time Springsteen with his E Street mates played South Florida was February 2016 on a tour devoted to his 1980 landmark album, “The River,” that played Sunrise’s then BB&T Center (now FLA Live).

Springsteen also performed a solo, mostly acoustic, concert at the original and smaller Hard Rock Live in Hollywood on his tour for his “Devils & Dust” album in Nov. 2005. The venue was recently rebuilt and added about 2,000 seats.

E Street Band members include Max Weinberg, Roy Bittan, Patti Scialfa, Nils Lofgren, Steven Van Zandt and Garry Tallent.

Weinberg won’t have far to travel to get to the Hollywood date at Hard Rock Live. He’s a Palm Beach County property owner and started a two-year appointment to the Delray Beach Planning and Zoning Board in 2020.

The Springsteens — Bruce and wife

Patti — also have one of their homes in Wellington. Daughter Jessica, 30, is an Olympic silver medalist in team jumping and a member of the United States Equestrian Team.
