8 PM * The Great Christmas Light Fight ’Tis the time of year when many a homeowner longs to hear four simple words: “It’s a beaut, Clark!” And one lucky family will hear more than that with the Season 10 finale of America’s brightest show. Lifestyle expert Carter Oosterhouse and famed interior designer Taniya Nayak — along with celebrity judges and Christmas decor aficionados — are knee-deep in holiday displays as viewers will once again see one fantastic family win $50,000 and the coveted Light Fight Trophy.
8 PM G Dogs of the Year 2022 It’s pawsitively awesome as man’s (and woman’s) best friends return with an all-new cast of characters to charm their way into our hearts. Hosted by Kevin Frazier and Keltie Knight, this new special highlights the most amazing dog stories of 2022. From finding their way home to befriending unlikely species to learning tricks that blow your mind, it celebrates the dogs that go above and beyond, that leave their mark on society, and achieve the nearly impossible.
8 PM (FOOD) Holiday Baking Championship If only we could smell what’s in the oven through the TV screen. The bakers are feeling the holiday rush as host Jesse Palmer sends them through three heated challenges. First, they’ll have to create ugly sweater cakes that taste better than they look. Then they must turn store-bought cake into tasty centerpieces, before building a snowman croquembouche to continue on to the finale in the new episode “Holiday Rush.”
9 PM ^ American Masters This new episode “The Adventures of Saul Bellow,” explores Nobel Prize winner Saul Bellow’s impact on American literature and how he navigated through issues of his time, including race, gender and the Jewish immigrant experience. Bellows is the only writer to win the National Book Award for Fiction three times. Interviews with Philip Roth, Salman Rushdie and others are also featured. 10 PM & Baking It: Maya Rudolph & Amy Poehler’s Celebrity Holiday Special Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler host this new celebrity holiday special featuring Fred Armisen, Kristen Bell, Nicole Richie and JB Smoove, who come together in a friendly competition to “cele-bake” the holidays and raise some dough for their favorite charities. The celebrities draw inspiration from beloved holiday traditions and family recipes. Their tasty treats include: Bell’s Austrian Schaumrollen and Pickle Soup, Sticky Apple Cake by Richie, Vegan Banana Pudding Cake made by self-proclaimed “Cake Architect” Smoove, and Venezuelan Hallacas made by Armisen.
