‘Why the editing?’ Naomi Campbell struts like a boss in Miami after photoshop fail

- BY MADELEINE MARR mmarr@miamiherald.com

No one puts Naomi Campbell in a corner. Even the Internet.

Just a few days after being raked over the Instagram coals for an alleged photoshop fail, the supermodel was back in icon mode in Miami.

Campbell faced some haters, um, head on after posting two seemingly filtered snaps from the Vanity Fair afterparty on Oscars night Sunday.

The 52 year old thanked her stylists for putting her look together in a glam carousel. The closeup, in particular, appeared to be put through a few things on her phone’s keyboard.

In the heavily criticized snap, the ‘90s fashion star’s skin is 100 percent wrinkle free, glowing and flawless. Her facial features such as cheekbones and nose appear slimmed and sculpted, respectively.

One keyboard critic griped: “Worst photoshopped pic I’ve ever seen.”

“Why the editing?” “She is Naomi! Her team wasn’t able to find a single ONE good photo?”

“You don’t need filters!!! Keep it real Queen!”

Another pleaded the native Londoner to delete the snap. “You looked amazing without photoshop!!! You don’t need to edit your photos!”

At least a few fans jumped to Campbell’s defense. e.g.: “Just you wait until you turn 52,” wrote one. “This is a supermodel, she is meant to try her best to look good. If you ask me, she’s doing a better job than you even currently will do in a lifetime.”

Not that Campbell responded to haters, but we doubt she would give a flip anyway. The woman is is slaying into middle age.

Note to trolls: No filters were used on the catwalk Wednesday night as Campbell walked the runway at the Hugo Boss show at the old Miami Herald site turned event space downtown.

The catwalk vet showed off what her mama gave her, closing out the dazzling, light filled presentation of men and women’s modern, tailored looks for spring/summer 2023.

On her Insta Stories, the mother of one reshared an Insta Story from pal Trey Laird, showing everyone who was well, Boss. The text over screen said: “Nobody closes like the legend, @naomi.”

Another surprise blast from the past cameo included “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson, whose fierce walk-on was cheered on by Maluma, Demi Lovato and Tiffany Haddish.

Anyone (Campbell critics included) can rewatch the trippy, water-filled spectacle, livestreamed at bossmiamis how.hugoboss.com.
