- Field Level Media

C.J. Stroud threw for a rookie-record 470 yards Sunday, capping it with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Tank Dell with six seconds left to give the Houston Texans a wild 39-37 win over the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The touchdown pass was his fifth of the day.

Stroud led a 75-yard drive in 40 seconds after Baker Mayfield put Tampa Bay (3-5) ahead with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Cade Otton with 46 seconds left.

Marc Bulger held the rookie record for passing yards in a game with 453 for the St. Louis Rams in November 2002.

Stroud completed 30 of 42 passes, connecting with Noah Brown six times for 157 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown. Dalton Schultz added 10 catches for 130 yards and Dell finished with six grabs for 114 yards, along with two scores.

The Texans (4-4) grabbed a 33-30 edge when backup running back Dare Ogunbowale kicked a tiebreaking 29yard field goal with 8:45 remaining. Ogunbowale replaced Ka’imi Fairbairn, who was ruled out at halftime after suffering a quad injury.

Mayfield connected on 21 of 30 passes for 265 yards for the Buccaneers, who lost their fourth straight game.

Vikings 31, Falcons 28: Joshua Dobbs fired a go-ahead, 6-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Powell with 20 seconds remaining to lift Minnesota on the road.

Dobbs was terrific off the bench only five days after Minnesota (5-4) acquired him from Arizona. He replaced rookie starter Jaren Hall, who sustained a concussion on a scramble in the first half.

Dobbs passed for 158 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 66 yards and a score.

Taylor Heinicke, making his first Atlanta start in place of Desmond Ridder, completed 21 of 38 passes for 268 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Atlanta fell to 4-5.

Commanders 20, Patriots 17: Sam Howell threw for 325 yards for Washington (4-5) in the road victory.

The Patriots had a chance to tie or take the lead when they got the ball back with 2:07 left in the game, but after working to the Commanders 41, Mac Jones threw a pick.

New England dropped to 2-7 for the first time since Bill Belichick’s first season as coach in 2000.

The victory was the Commanders’ first at

New England since 1996.

Browns 27, Cardinals 0: Cleveland, playing at home, ran roughshod over rookie quarterback Clayton Tune.

The shutout was the first for the Browns (5-3) in a span of 251 games, dating back to an 8-0 win over Buffalo on Dec. 16, 2007.

The Browns spoiled the NFL debut of Tune, who was replacing Joshua Dobbs after Arizona (1-8) traded him earlier in the week.

Tune completed 11 of 20 passes for 58 yards, was intercepted twice and lost a fumble on one of Cleveland’s seven sacks. His passer rating was 20.8.

Deshaun Watson returned to the field for the Browns. He completed 19 of 30 passes for 219 yards and touchdowns to Amari Cooper and David Njoku.

Watson, who has had a shoulder injury, played briefly Oct. 22 but hadn’t had a full-game stint since Sept. 24.

Packers 20, Rams 3:

Jordan Love completed 20 of 26 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown to help host Green Bay snap a four-game losing streak.

Aaron Jones rushed for 73 yards on 20 carries and scored a touchdown for the Packers (3-5), who held the Rams to 187 total yards and shut them out in the second half.

Quarterback Brett Rypien made his fourth NFL start and first for the Rams in place of Matthew Stafford, who sat out with a right thumb injury.

Rypien completed 13 of 28 passes for 130 yards and an interception.

The Rams (3-6) have lost four of five and three in a row as they head into their bye week.

Saints 24, Bears 17:

Cornerback Paulson Adebo had two interceptions and a fumble recovery for host New Orleans.

Adebo’s takeaways led to 10 points for the Saints (5-4), who finished with five takeaways and no turnovers. That enabled them to hold off the Bears (2-7) as Derek Carr passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns.

Rookie Tyson Bagent, making his third consecutive start in place of injured Justin Fields, passed for 220 yards and two touchdowns, but he threw three interceptions and lost a fumble.
