Coral Gables, Florida Robert John Yanno of Coral Gables, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 15th at the age of 81. He was born on February 6, 1943 in Gloversvil­le, New York to Amelia Martorelli Yanno and John Yanno. He grew up in South Florida, graduated from Coral Gables High School and earned a degree in Political Science from Emory University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He served in the Army with NATO in Paris and Brussels, where he met his future wife, Hallie. Bob spent most of his career in banking, beginning with Coral Gables Federal, Citibank Miami, and Citibank of Nigeria. After retiring, he worked as a consultant for Subway (IPC).

He was a member of Plymouth Congregati­onal Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and as Treasurer. He was a longtime member of Riviera Country Club where he served on the Board. He enjoyed golfing, drinking red wine, traveling, being Italian and having long conversati­ons with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Hallie Kimbrough Yanno; sister, Celia Heilman (Larry); brother, Alfred Yanno (Susan); two sisters-in-law, Midge Kimbrough and Sarah Crockett (John); nieces, Danielle Bond (Rick) and Elizabeth Bucalo, Sally Cleek (Cory) and Mary Beth Turner (Tim); along with several great-nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Liliana Palomino, Jesse, and Leila for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Plymouth Congregati­onal Church, 3400 Devon Rd, Coconut Grove, FL 33133 on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:30pm.
