What’s coming to Lincoln Road Mall in South Beach?

- BY HOWARD COHEN hcohen@miamiherald.com

A 45-foot-tall, 32,000pound naked woman isn’t the only new thing on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. The open-air shopping and dining destination is adding new tenants to its lineup of 200 shops, cafes and galleries.

By May, several new businesses will call Lincoln Road’s pedestrian promenade home. Some of them opened in December and January. But one was just a pop-up flasher — and we’re not talking artist Marco Cochrane’s R-evolution sculpture that departs from the mall in April. Another is a temporary gallery.

Lincoln Road, a South Beach shopping street that was converted to one of the nation’s first pedestrian malls in 1960, begins on Alton Road and unfurls for six blocks east toward Washington Avenue. Just beyond is the beachfront and the RitzCarlton South Beach hotel and Decoplage condominium.

Here’s a look at some of the new faces on Lincoln Road Mall.

NEWEST OPENING

Bel-Air Fine Art. This Bel-Aire Fine Art pop-up gallery opened at 442 Lincoln Road on Monday, Feb. 26, to showcase its new exhibit #thePopCollection. Featured is the work of artists Leo Manelli, Peppone, Fabien Novarino and Auguste. The gallery exhibit at the Lincoln Road pop-up is on the promenade through May.

OPENED IN FEBRUARY

SkinCeuticals. This pop-up at 700 Lincoln Road opened on the weekend of Feb. 24-25 but was just here for a flash as part of the skincare brand’s SkinCeuticals Treatment Tour. At the temporary two-day pop-up, guests scored complimentary treatments and skin care pairings, skin consults with experts, and take home premium product samples and limited-edition offerings.

Majorica at 639 Lincoln Road is a Spanish jewelry brand renowned for its pearls. The new 1,400-square-foot Lincoln Road store is part of a company that has been around for more than 130 years. “We couldn’t be more excited to open on Lincoln Road,” said Elena Stungis, vice president of sales for Majorica. She said the Spanish jeweler opened on Lincoln Road to tap the mix of locals and tourists that visit the mall. And “to be in the center of all the exciting events and new developments happening in Miami Beach.”

Oakley at 646-650 Lincoln Road is a relocation to a larger space on the pedestrian plaza. The eyewear retailer that sells eye-catching sunglasses and sports accessories takes up about 1,500 square feet of the Lincoln Center space on the mall.

OPENED IN DECEMBER-JANUARY

Oakberry at 1674 Meridian Ave. opened on Lincoln Road in December. The 560-square-foot store sells customizable organic açaí bowls and smoothies. One of its most popular concoctions is The Original, made with organic açaí layered with peanut butter, banana and granola. There are two other Oakberry outlets in the Miami area — one at the Kaseya Center at 600 Biscayne Blvd. in downtown Miami and another in Wynwood at 2619 NW Second Ave.

Ladurée at 1118 Lincoln Road opened a 302square-foot space in January. Ladurée is a French bakery. Think sweets like pastries and macarons, as well as jams, teas, chocolates, cookies and savory croissants, all Parisianstyle.

Pizzeria Romana at 533 Lincoln Road opened in January and is from the restaurateur behind nearby Rosinella Italian Trattoria on the promenade. The 1,900-square-feet restaurant specializes in Roman pizza, whole and by the slice, along with sandwiches, fresh juices and soft serve ice cream.

WHAT ELSE IS ON LINCOLN ROAD?

The mall opened a handful of new tenants last

May, including HOKA footwear, Luli Fama swimwear and Turkish Delight.

The newest tenants join Lincoln Road’s mix of chains like Adidas, H&M, Nike, Apple, Zara and Lululemon, and locally owned establishments inclduing Mila Miami Rooftop Restaurant & Bar, Issabella’s, Harry’s Pizzeria and Habitat Hyett.
