Tori Spelling files for divorce from Dean McDermott

- New York Daily News

The actress Tori Spelling filed for divorce from Dean McDermott on Friday, nearly a year after the pair announced their split.

The “Beverly Hills, 90210” star, 50, cited irreconcilable differences as the primary reason for wanting a dissolution of marriage and is seeking spousal support, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.

It doesn’t appear that the couple had a prenuptial agreement, with Spelling noting that the status of their property and shared assets are pending the finalization of the divorce.

Although she’s seeking sole physical custody of the couple’s five children, Spelling seems to be alright with the former “Chopped Canada” host having visitation rights, according to TMZ. She’s also requesting joint legal custody of their children — Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, 7.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, McDermott, 57, announced the pair’s split on June 17, 2023 — the same day Spelling listed as their date of separation in divorce documents. Two years earlier, Spelling revealed they were sleeping in separate beds.

The pair’s marriage, which spanned muchpublicized money problems and McDermott’s infidelity, took center stage in multiple reality series, including Oxygen’s “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” Lifetime’s “True Tori,” and Abode’s “Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever.”

Spelling and McDermott were both married — she to Charlie Shanian and he to Mary Jo Eustace — when they met on the set of the TV flick “Mind Over Murder” in 2005. They tied the knot the following May, just weeks after Spelling’s divorce was finalized. They welcomed their first child in March 2007.
