Miami Beach , Florida Arthur Hyman Weiner, aged 76, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, visionary real estate developer, passionate golfer, pianist, art lover, and music enthusiast, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, surrounded by his adoring wife and children. Arthur’s body now rests while his spirit soars, and his legacy of love, passion, and inspiration lives on forever.

Arthur was a true gentleman and loyal friend to everyone he crossed paths with. His magnetic presence and poetic words motivated all those around him to pursue their wildest dreams. Fiercely protective of those he believed in, Arthur encouraged authenticity at every turn. When Arthur shined his light on you, you glowed. Arthur was larger than life in spirit and soul, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have entered his orbit.

Born on December 9th, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Arthur graduated from Lower Merion High School where his natural athleticism and unique charm developed. He went on to attend Penn State University in State College, PA. A pioneer in every way, Arthur moved to Miami, FL, in 1979 and never looked back.

Arthur, the founder of Arthur Weiner Enterprises, AWE Talisman and later AWENext, was a visionary in the retail center space. Through deep brand relationships, a unique perspective on retail and real estate trends, and his insight into the luxury consumer marketplace, Arthur developed one-of-a-kind outlet centers that received national and international awards and recognition, including a first of its kind membership to the Altagamma Foundation.

Arthur’s vision initially succeeded in his adopted home city of Miami, FL, and permanently transformed the luxury retail landscape with Merrick Park in Coral Gables and the High Luxury Colonnade at Sawgrass Mills. Among the Colonnade’s numerous accomplishments, none surpassed its distinction as the highest-grossing luxury outlet on a sales-persquare-foot basis.

Prior to AWE, Arthur Weiner was the Founder and Director of Deb Shops, Inc., a publicly held women’s fashion retail chain with more than 300 stores throughout the United States. Arthur began with one store and methodically and systematically grew to what was a highly successful public offering.

Of Arthur’s many accomplishments, the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont, Illinois, was a standout. The Fashion Outlets of Chicago has garnered numerous awards and accolades, including the ICSC’s 2014 U.S. Design and Development Gold recipient, and was honored as the #1 outlet center in the world at the MAPIC Awards. It was at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago where Arthur founded The Arts Initiative, one of his greatest sources of pride and passion—a collective dedicated to placing highly interactive visual art in public venues with the aim of enriching the fabric of everyday life through the arts.

Arthur loved deeply and fiercely. Nothing was more important than his family. He shared 40 years of cherished romance with the love of his life, Sunny. Loving father to Christopher, Farryn, Amanda, and Austyn; loving grandfather to Henry, Noah, and Mia Alagem; dear brother of the late Warren Weiner; devoted son of the late Aaron and Frances Weiner; and is survived by his loving mother-in-law Shirley, sister-inlaw Penny, niece Robyn, as well as countless lifelong friends and one sweet, as she is small, dog, Harper. Arthur is a legend in every sense of the word. His impact was as immense as his heart, and his presence on this earth will always be remembered.

Services for Arthur will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 12 pm, at Beth David Memorial Gardens / Levitt Weinstein Jewish Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 3201 N 72nd Ave, Hollywood, FL 33024, 305-8719036. Services will be public.
