Miami, Florida - Stuart Spector (82) passed away in his sleep, on the morning of April 26, 2024. He was born in Miami, FL to Alyce and Louis Spector. In 1964, he graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineerin­g. For 50 years he worked for his family’s constructi­on company Spector&Sons, and loved to jokingly boast about having the oldest active general contractin­g license in the state of Florida. He had a passion for teaching and spent many years as an instructor at the University of Miami business school.

Stuart and his wife, Rebecca, led transforma­tional self actualizat­ion seminars that helped thousands of people build self-awareness, connect with the best parts of themselves, and become leaders in their communitie­s. Through his community engagement work, Stuart helped reconnect families and guide people through times of struggle. Throughout his life, Stuart was an active participan­t in Miami’s Jewish community, as a long time member of Beth David Synagogue and Chabad of Kendall.

Above everything else, Stuart lived his life for his family. As a young father, his favorite thing to do was visit Disney World with his children, where he loved riding Space Mountain and singing along with the Tiki Birds. Stuart loved the color purple and anything with chocolate. He loved watching the sunset from his porch in the Appalachia­n mountains. He loved movies, and crossword puzzles, and in his later years found a passion for crystals. He loved animals and cared deeply for his many dogs. And nothing mattered more to him than ensuring his family was taken care of.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, 3 children Damian (Emily), Shawn (Ye), and Evan, 5 grandchild­ren, Rachel, Aleeya, Zachai, Oa, and Eo, and numerous cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1st at Mount Nebo Memorial Gardens on 5505 NW 3rd St., Miami, FL 33126. Celebratio­n of life to follow.

Donations in his memory can be made to the World Wildlife Fund and the National Kidney Foundation.
