The Ja­panese call it “for­est bathing” – get­ting out and spend­ing time in na­ture. Re­searchers say even five min­utes around trees or green spa­ces may re­duce stress and im­prove health, with ben­e­fits to im­mune sys­tem, blood pres­sure, at­ten­tion span, en­ergy lev­els and mood. You don’t even have to leave the county – visit the Ur­ban Ecol­ogy Cen­ter, Haven­woods State For­est or Wehr Na­ture Cen­ter, for starters.
