Oak Creek pulls out win over Franklin.

The defending champion was on the ropes, but it would not be defeated.

After trailing by one, Oak Creek junior Madison Hart scored a layup and junior Hailey Erdman and senior Jenna Santi hit free throws in the final seconds to lift the Knights to a 32-29 victory over Franklin on Thursday in a WIAA Division 1 sectional semifinal at West Allis Central.

Hart and senior guard Hannah Settingsga­ard shared the team lead with 10 points each for Oak Creek, which improved to 21-6 and will play Divine Savior Holy Angels in the sectional final at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brookfield Central.

Arrowhead 40, Waukesha West 22: The Warhawks (20-5) got the best of West in this showdown between Classic 8 co-champions. Arrowhead never allowed more than nine points in any quarter. Senior Ally May, a Northern Illinois recruit, finished with 14 points.

Dani Rhodes had 10 points for West (22-3).

Cedarburg 51, Beaver Dam

42: The Bulldogs (22-2) outscored the Wisconsin Little Ten champion by 15 points

in the second half at Sheboygan North to advance.

Cedarburg junior post Allie Barber had 15 points to lead all scorers. Senior post Kylee Marks added 11 points.

Cassidy Trotter finished with 14 points for the Beavers (19-6).

New Berlin West 46, Cudahy 32: Ahead by just four points at the half, West went on a 15-6 run in the third quarter to take control at Greenfield. Rachel Novotny, a senior forward, finished with 19 points for the Vikings, who improved to 19-7.

Bailey Eichner had 12 for Cudahy (11-14).

Pius XI 46, Shorewood 17: In a showdown of the champions of the Woodland East and West Divisions, West proved to be the best as the Popes (25-0) never allowed more than seven points in any quarter.

Shorewood finished 17-7.

DIVISION 3

Kettle Moraine Lutheran

54, St. Thomas More 33: At Brookfield East, the defending state champion led by 11 after one quarter and by 13 at the half. Senior guard Mikayla Voigt, a Northern Illinois recruit, hit 2 threepoint­ers and finished with 16 points for the Chargers, who improved to 19-6.

Freshman Brianna Flayter had eight points for Thomas More (12-13).

DIVISION 4

Dominican 44, Kenosha

St. Joseph 41: At Racine Case, the Knights avenged two regular-season losses to the Metro Classic champion to advance to the sectional final for the second straight season.

Senior forward Allazia Blockton, a Marquette recruit, finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds and four steals for the Knights, who improved to 19-6. Freshman guard Jazmine Young also had 11 points for Dominican.

DIVISION 5

Sheboygan Christian 59,

Heritage Christian 56: The Eagles (22-2) outscored Heritage (21-3) by 11 points in the fourth quarter to advance at West Bend. Sophomore guard Abby Shane, who hit 5 of 7 from three-point range, had a game-high 21 points for the Patriots, while senior Tara Jefferson had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

All-state guard Mariana Bautista finished with 12 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in her final game.
