Ford in hospital after plane crashes on golf course

Actor and avid pilot Harrison Ford was hospitaliz­ed Thursday after the plane he was piloting crashed onto a golf course in Venice, Calif., according to news reports from several outlets, including KNBC-TV and Variety.com.

The two-seat World War II training plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the Santa Monica Airport, according to Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administra­tion.

Ford, 72, reportedly walked away from the crash and, after being tended to by doctors at the scene, was taken to a hospital with head injuries.

Haulin’ Oats cereal? Hall & Oates can’t go for that

The singing duo Hall & Oates have sued a cereal company, claiming its granola Haulin’ Oats infringes on their trademark, the BBC reported. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Brooklyn, contends that Early Bird Foods & Co. breaks the law with its “phonetic play on Daryl Hall and John Oates’ well-known brand name.” The suit alleges that several entities have tried “to make a connection between the artists’ names and oats-related products.”

‘Daily Show’s’ Samantha Bee to leave for TBS show

The exodus continues at “The Daily Show,” with TBS announcing Thursday that it is giving correspond­ent Samantha Bee her own topical comedy show.

TBS recently announced it was picking up a scripted comedy series created by Bee and her husband,

Jason Jones, also from “The Daily Show.”

No start date was given for Bee’s show.

Bee’s departure crosses one more name off the list of potential successors to Jon Stewart, who is leaving as host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” later this year.
