-

Madison — Luke Kunin’s second goal of the game with 27 seconds left in regulation helped the Wisconsin men’s hockey team skate to a 4-4 tie with Michigan on Saturday night at the Kohl Center.

UW (6-13-1, 1-8-3 Big Ten) pulled its goalie with 1 minute 21 seconds remaining and got off several shots that were either off the mark or stopped by Wolverines goalie Steve Racine. But Kunin came to the rescue as the freshman winger netted his 12th goal of the season.

The teams entered the final intermission tied at 2-2 as Kunin and Grant Besse netted goals in the second period for UW.

Michigan (18-4-5, 9-2-3) retook the lead just 15 seconds into the third, but Ryan Wagner answered for UW 29 seconds later.

Dexter Dancs’ goal at 10:13 put the Wolverines ahead until Kunin’s late marker.
