Legislators not working for citizens
Every time I read about our state legislators, they seem to be working for someone other than us. Trying to close the open records laws or keeping more campaign contributions secret are changes not wanted by any voters.
Trying to gut the laws about the sale of public utilities to private companies is just the latest example. There is only one group that wants this done, the companies that want to buy them. When you are already for sale, it doesn’t take much of a leap to justify selling anything else.
How many more contributions do they need to run in “safe” seats? I suggest a new law allowing legalized prostitution in the state. Then we can call our legislators what they really are.
