Shame on officials

During the shakedown for public funds to contribute to a new basketball arena, many proponents said this investment is necessary to make Milwaukee a world-class city. And yet we will let the Mitchell Park Domes, which serves a greater purpose to the public and identity of Milwaukee, deteriorate to the state we now find it (“Fix could cost up to $75 million,” Feb. 9).

Shame on the public officials who raided public funds set aside for the Domes’ upkeep. Shame on those officials who were asleep at the wheel and allowed this to happen. Much like the county’s pension scandal, it is time for voters to wake up and realize elected officials of both parties have failed the public again.
