UW-Madison school loses ranking

University of Wisconsin-Madison’s engineering school misreported data for the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate School” rankings for 2017, self-reported the discrepancies before the data was released to the public, and lost its tie for a No. 14 ranking.

The misreported data had resulted in the school’s numerical ranking for graduate programs being higher than it otherwise might have been among Best Engineering Schools, U.S. News & World Report stated Wednesday in an update about the rankings. Because of the errors, the engineering school’s master’s and doctoral programs are now unranked.
