MEET SIX OF THE ACTS PLAYING SUMMERFEST’S ‘MILLENNIAL DAY’

-

Jamila Woods: First making waves with guest turns for Chance the Rapper and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, soulful singer Woods proved she’s an artist to watch with empowering debut album “HEAVN.” (5 p.m., Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard)

Lanco: A chance encounter between frontman Brandon Lancaster and Eric Church producer Jay Joyce turned out to be Lanco’s big break. Talent, and catchy country anthems with sprinkles of blues and rock, is taking the band further. (8 p.m., U.S. Cellular Connection Stage)

PVRIS: Pronounced “Paris,” but hailing from Lowell, Mass., brooding electropop trio PVRIS became the first female-fronted act on metalcore label Rise Records, and easily one of its most accessible artists. (8:30 p.m., Uline Warehouse)

Miike Snow: Two-thirds of this Swedish group produced some of the splashiest pop smashes of the early aughts, including Britney Spears’ all-time best single “Toxic,” before crafting their own irresistible hits like “Genghis Khan.” (10 p.m., Harley-Davidson Roadhouse)

Alessia Cara: With a voice far richer than her age would suggest, the 20-year-old Cara broke huge in 2015 with “Here,” a retro anthem for party wallflowers, and has been on a roll since; she’s currently the 16th most-streamed artist in the world on Spotify. (10 p.m., Miller Lite Oasis)

Death from Above 1979: The blistering dance-rock duo broke up just two years after releasing its acclaimed debut album, but re-formed in 2011, and dropped the deliciously aggressive follow-up, “The Physical World,” in 2014. (10 p.m., Uline Warehouse)
