Anniversary marked
The Sikh Temple of Wisconsin will commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Aug. 5, 2012, attack Friday through Sunday.
“Your presence would show that this is not only a Sikh tragedy, but also an American tragedy,” the temple said on an invitation. “We must fight this violence not with more violence but by coming together with kindness and love.”
The events include: a 48-hour recitation of Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy book, beginning Friday; a 6-kilometer run and walk at Oak Creek High School Saturday morning; and the singing of hymns and “tributes to the departed souls” on Sunday.
