Bayfield: Apple Festival. Enjoy the fruit of fall on the Bayfield peninsula Oct. 6-8. Activities include a parade, more than 60 booths with fresh apples and treats, a carnival and fine art exhibitors. See bayfield.org.

Eagle River: Cranberry Fest. Browse arts and crafts from dozens of vendors, enjoy cranberry treats including the world’s largest cranberry cheesecake, tour cranberry marshes and more at this festival Oct. 6-8 at the Vilas County fairground­s. See eagleriver.org.

Galesville: Apple Affair. A 10-foot apple pie is the highlight of this festival Oct. 7 in downtown Galesville. There will also be an Apple Affair Bike Tour, pies for sale, a flea market, kids activities and a farmer’s market. See galesville­wi.com.

Nekoosa: Giant Pumpkin Fest. Events at this festival Oct. 7-8 include a giant pumpkin weigh-off, a giant pumpkin drop, a baking competitio­n, pumpkin carving, a craft show and a flea market. Admission is $3; kids 6 and under get in free. See nekoosagia­ntpumpkinf­est.com.
