Minocqua: Only Fools Run at Midnight 5K. Don a costume for this nighttime 5K through the streets and trails around Minocqua April 7. The race kicks off at 11 p.m. Registration is $25 in advance and $35 the day of the race. See minocqua.org.
Pepin: Great River Road Wine Trail Spring Fling. Raise a glass to spring at 11 wineries along the Great River Road April 7-8. All will be open, and many will have special releases and events. See greatriverroadwinetrail.org.
Phelps: Maple Syrup Fest. See tree tapping demonstrations, tour sugar bushes and enjoy food and entertainment at the Phelps School from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m April 7. See phelpswi.us.
Poynette: Mackenzie Center Maple Fest. Learn how maple syrup was made in the past and how it’s made today, plus enjoy a pancake breakfast at the Mackenzie Center from 8 a.m. to noon April 7. Breakfast is $7 for those 12 years and older and $5 for ages 3 – 11. See dnr.wi.gov/education/Mackenzie.
Superior: Gitchee Gumee Brew Fest. Sample beers from more than 30 craft brewers at this festival from 5 to 8 p.m. April 7 at UW-Superior’s Wessman Arena. Tickets are $30. See ggbrewfest.com.
