Minocqua: Only Fools Run at Midnight 5K. Don a costume for this nighttime 5K through the streets and trails around Minocqua April 7. The race kicks off at 11 p.m. Registrati­on is $25 in advance and $35 the day of the race. See minocqua.org.

Poynette: Mackenzie Center Maple Fest. Learn how maple syrup was made in the past and how it’s made today, plus enjoy a pancake breakfast at the Mackenzie Center from 8 a.m. to noon April 7. Breakfast is $7 for those 12 years and older and $5 for ages 3 – 11. See dnr.wi.gov/education/Mackenzie.

Superior: Gitchee Gumee Brew Fest. Sample beers from more than 30 craft brewers at this festival from 5 to 8 p.m. April 7 at UW-Superior’s Wessman Arena. Tickets are $30. See ggbrewfest.com.
