Handle with care

-

China is bound to come out on special occasions such as Easter. Make your china look just as great for years to come with these tips.

Don’t let dirty food sit on a plate because you plan to get to it later. Not only is it harder to clean, but the acid in the food can eat away at the glaze.

Hand wash at all times. Some china may say “dishwasher safe,” but don’t be fooled. Not only can the dishwasher damage the glaze, things can get broken easily.

Put a rubber mat on the bottom of your sink to protect china if it slips away from you during the washing process.

After washing and rinsing dishes, drain them on a plastic or wooden drying rack before wiping with a soft cloth and putting away.

When storing china, put a cushioned layer, such as a coffee filter, between each

piece.

If you don’t use your dishes often, still wash them once a year to keep impurities

from damaging the glaze.
