Arrowhead’s Holtz is D1 WBCA player of year
A state championship eluded Jeff Holtz, but not much else did.
The Arrowhead senior capped his high school baseball career in the Division 1 state final last week. It was a run that included three years as an allstate performer, three years at the state tournament that included runner-up finishes in 2016 and '18 and a Division I scholarship to Indiana.
The icing on the cake came from the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association, which named Holtz its Division 1 state player of the year.
He is one of three area players on the first team. Lake Country Lutheran junior Tyler Brandenburg made the squad as an infielder; Arrowhead senior Chandler Pulvermacher was selected as an outfielder.
