How to Earn Extra Money

Earning money during the school year can be a challenge, because school, homework and extracurricular activities take up much of your day. However, there are plenty of flexible jobs you can do to earn extra money for a bike or a favorite activity.

Start by making a list of things you enjoy doing. If you like being outdoors, you could offer to rake leaves, mow lawns or weed neighbors’ gardens after school. Are you an animal lover? With a parent’s permission, you can offer pet sitting to neighbors who travel or work late.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure it’s something you enjoy. Be as creative as you want: If you enjoy baking, you can make anything from cupcakes for birthday parties to pet snacks to sell to neighbors and friends.
