Walker and our roads

-

Gov. Scott Walker’s use of the state airplane demonstrates his disregard for how our tax dollars are spent (“Walker opponents take him to task over state planes,” Aug. 21).

Based on the condition of the state roads, I can understand why Walker would prefer to fly. His use of the plane allows him to maintain his belief that we need not spend any more money on road repair.

I would never argue that a governor should not have access to a state plane to conduct business, but Walker’s use in many instances is ridiculous. It is time to ground the plane so Walker can see what the residents of Wisconsin have to drive on every day. If grounded, the condition of our roads, which ranks 49th in the United States, might improve.
