-

No. 4. Ohio St 52, Rutgers 3: Dwayne Haskins Jr. threw four touchdown passes and host Ohio State rolled to the 900th victory in program history, routing outmanned Rutgers.

Johnnie Dixon grabbed two of Haskins’ scoring strikes, and backup quarterback Tate Martell added another touchdown pass and a 47-yard scoring run on a gray, misty afternoon. The Buckeyes, playing in their second game without suspended coach Urban Meyer, piled up 579 offensive yards after amassing 721 in the opener.

No. 21 Michigan 49, Western Michigan 3: Shea Patterson threw three touchdown passes, one in each of the first three quarters, to help host Michigan coast to a win over Western Michigan.

Patterson, the heralded transfer from Mississippi, was 12 of 17 for 125 yards.

He connected for two scores to wide receivers after the position group accounted for a total of just three touchdowns last season for the Wolverines (1-1).

Duke 21, Northwestern 7: Daniel Jones threw for three touchdowns before leaving the game with an apparent injury as visiting Duke beat Northwestern.

Jones passed for three TDs in the second quarter, propelling the Blue Devils (2-0) to another victory over the Wildcats (1-1) after pounding them at home last year.

E. Michigan 20, Purdue 19: Chad Ryland delivered Eastern Michigan a thrilling victory over the Purdue as time expired on Saturday. The freshman kicker made the late go-ahead field goal from 24 yards to lift the Eagles over the Boilermakers 20-19.

Iowa 13, Iowa State 3: Mekhi Sargent scored on a 2-yard TD run with 4:47 left and Iowa beat Iowa State 13-3 on Saturday for the fourth year in a row.
