PREP FOOTBALL WEEK 9 GAMES TO WATCH

- Curt Hogg and Mark Stewart

Games 7 p.m. Friday unless noted

New Berlin Eisenhower (8-0, 7-0 Woodland West) at Shorewood/ Messmer (7-1, 6-1 Woodland East): This one is for all the marbles in the Woodland Conference. Shorewood/ Messmer’s rise to the title game is worth noting, as 10 years ago the program left the conference without the blessing of the WIAA. Now, the Greyhounds will have a chance to rise above the rest of the conference.

Slinger (7-1, 7-1 North Shore) at Homestead (8-0, 8-0 North Shore): The two conference powers face off to close the regular season. The Highlanders have already clinched at least a share of the North Shore title but can win it outright with a victory; the Owls would share the championship with Homestead with a win.

Oconomowoc (0-7, 0-8 Classic 8) at Kettle Moraine (4-4, 3-4 Classic 8): Part of what makes the final week of the regular season are the teams that are still fighting for playoff spots. The Lasers are one of those squads, needing a win over the Raccoons to qualify for the postseason for the second consecutive season.

St. Francis (7-0, 5-0 Midwest Classic) at Lake Country Lutheran (8-0, 5-0 Midwest Classic): The Midwest Classic Conference does not have a set championship game, but with the way the regular season played out, the match-up between the Mariners and Lightning serves as exactly that.

Pewaukee (5-3, 4-3 Woodland West) at Whitnall (3-5, 3-4 Woodland East): The Falcons need a win over the Pirates to secure their spot in the playoffs.

Sussex Hamilton (4-4, 4-3 Greater Metro) at Germantown (3-5, 3-4 Greater Metro): The Warhawks have come close to pulling off the upset in each of the last two weeks against Marquette and Brookfield East. They’ll need to do so against the Chargers this week to become playoff eligible.

Milwaukee Reagan (6-2) vs. Milwaukee Riverside (7-1) at Custer Stadium, 6 p.m. Friday: In the City Conference championship game, Richardson Division winner Riverside goes for its second win over Reagan this season. The Tigers beat the Huskies, 42-6, on Sept. 13.
