The Cor­ners lands restau­rant with rooftop lounge

A large restau­rant, fea­tur­ing a rooftop lounge, is com­ing to The Cor­ners of Brook­field re­tail and apart­ment de­vel­op­ment.

The restau­rant, Lake Coun­try So­cial, will fea­ture Amer­i­can cui­sine us­ing lo­cally sourced in­gre­di­ents and will lease more than 15,000 square feet, ac­cord­ing to a Thurs­day an­nounce­ment from IM Prop­er­ties, co-developer of The Cor­ners, and restau­rant op­er­a­tor Rule No. One Hos­pi­tal­ity Group.

It’s sched­uled to open next sum­mer. The menu will in­clude what Madi­son-based Rule No. One calls “sup­per club clas­sics,” such as fried wall­eye and perch, burg­ers, steaks, chops and seafood.

The bar will fea­ture craft cock­tails, beer and wine.

Lake Coun­try So­cial will be be­tween Café Hol­lan­der and Arhaus at The Cor­ners, which is east of Barker Road be­tween West Blue Mound Road and I-94.

It will be on three lev­els, with a main din­ing room, a lower level with more for­mal din­ing, and an open-air gar­den rooftop with a large bar and lounge area with fire pits.

Lake Coun­try So­cial will be the first Mil­wau­kee-area restau­rant for Rule No. One.

The com­pany, founded in 2016 by Pa­trick Sweeney, Joshua Berk­son, Tom Dufek and Maddy Van Elzen, op­er­ates two Madi­son restau­rants: Mer­chant and Lu­cille.

The Cor­ners opened in 2017.

It is an­chored by a Von Maur depart­ment store and fea­tures dozens of ad­di­tional stores and restau­rants, along with 235 apart­ments.

Sil­verspot Cinema is un­der con­struc­tion and opens next spring, while ad­di­tional work will im­prove the street lay­out.

Around 85 per­cent of the de­vel­op­ment’s re­tail space is leased, and the apart­ments are nearly 90 per­cent leased, said Kathryn Whit­lock, a spokes­woman for The Cor­ners.
