UW guard An­der­son is out for the year

MADI­SON – Wis­con­sin re­serve guard Trevor An­der­son is ex­pected to miss the re­main­der of the sea­son af­ter ag­gra­vat­ing a right-knee in­jury last week at Iowa.

“We wish Trevor all the best and he’ll have our full sup­port as he goes through his surgery and re­hab,” UW coach

Greg Gard said in a re­lease. “We look for­ward to hav­ing him back on the court with us in the fu­ture.”

An­der­son, a red­shirt sopho­more who sat out last sea­son af­ter trans­fer­ring from UW-Green Bay, played in eight games this sea­son. He av­er­aged 1.6 points and 1.1 re­bounds per game.

An­der­son first hurt the knee dur­ing pre­sea­son prac­tice but opted to put off surgery be­cause he wanted to play this sea­son.

He in­jured the knee again af­ter scor­ing on a drive in the se­cond half of UW’s vic­tory at Iowa.
