Player of the week

Alex Huibregtse, Grafton: The Black Hawks (8-6) equaled their win total from last season with victories over South Milwaukee and West Bend East last week.

The junior guard averaged 27 points and seven rebounds and shot 62 percent (21 of 34) from the floor in the wins. He had a career-high 33 points on 12-for-20 shooting in an 84-73 victory over South Milwaukee on Tuesday. A 21-point night in a 72-60 win over West Bend East Friday raised his season average to 20.4 points per game with 6.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

Team of the week

Muskego: The Warriors moved to within one game of first place in the Classic 8 with a 59-57 victory over league-leader Waukesha West on Friday. The victory was the team’s fourth straight and the second in two weeks that came against the first-place team in the conference.

Coming up

Milwaukee Lutheran at Greenfield, 7 p.m. Tuesday: Woodland East leader Greenfield goes for the season sweep of Lutheran, which is one game back in the standings and has won five straight division games since a 55-49 loss to the Hawks Dec. 14.

Racine Case at Franklin, 7 p.m. Tuesday: The last time these two met, Case sent the Sabers home with a threepoint loss, the first of four setbacks by less than three points for Franklin this season. St. John’s Northweste­rn at Lake Country Lutheran, 7:15 p.m. Wednesday: This is a big stretch for Midwest Classic leader St. John’s, which faces the two teams tied for second in the league this week. After Lake Country, it plays host to Brookfield Academy Saturday.

City Review at UW-Milwaukee Panther

Arena, 3 p.m. Thursday: Here is the lineup for the City Conference’s annual showcase – Obama Career Tech vs. Madison, 3; King girls vs. Vincent girls, 4:30; Washington vs. Riverside, 6:30; Hamilton vs. King, 8.

Arrowhead at Waukesha West, 7 p.m.

Friday: Assuming both teams win Tuesday, West will enter this Classic 8 showdown with a half-game lead in on Arrowhead. The Warhawks, however, had a huge edge on the court in the first meeting, an 88-60 victory.

Chekouras Classic at Homestead, 11

a.m. Saturday: The annual showcase named in honor of former Homestead coach John Chekouras features seven games that wrap up with DeForest vs. Marquette at 6:30 and Homestead vs. Pewaukee at 8.
