Vikings sink Panthers

CLEVELAND - The UW-Milwaukee men’s basketball team didn’t have a long distance plan Saturday.

Cleveland State drained a seasonhigh 16 three-pointers en route to a 7868 victory over the Panthers at the Wolstein Center.

The Vikings hit 11 from beyond the arc in taking a 46-37 lead at the break.

“We didn’t cover the three-point line very well in the first half,” Panthers coach Pat Baldwin said. “We cut that down after halftime, but they made some timely ones in the second half. We have to do a better job covering the three and do a better job defending overall.”

Darius Roy had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Panthers (9-16, 4-8 Horizon League), who have lost five games in a row. Jake Wright added 15 points.
