Bradley Road closure postponed; 1st Street bridge to close
Because of a winter weather advisory, the Union Pacific Railroad has postponed repair work scheduled for Tuesday on the railroad tracks at the crossing on West Bradley Road between North Granville Woods Road and North 73rd Street.
The postponement means the closing of West Bradley Road in that area will occur from 9 a.m. Thursday, with reopening anticipated for Thursday evening, according to the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works.
During the closure, eastbound motorists should use West Good Hope Road or West Brown Deer Road via 76th Street, and westbound drivers should use North 60th Street, DPW said.
Access to all businesses on West Bradley Road, including the adjacent business parks, will be maintained, according to a news release.
On Monday the DPW also announced that the South 1st Street bascule bridge over the Kinnickinnic River will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from 6 a.m. Wednesday until 4 p.m. Friday for installation and adjustment of machinery as part of the bridge’s rehabilitation project. Motorists can follow the signed detour route.
Southbound traffic will be directed west onto West Maple Street to South 5th Street, south on South 5th Street to West Becher Street, and east on West Becher Street, according to the DPW.
Northbound traffic will be directed west onto West Becher Street to South 4th Street, north on South 4th Street to West Maple Street and east on West Maple Street.
