3 to 5 inches of snow expected Sunday into Monday

Just when you thought you could put away that snowblower, the National Weather Service is predicting another round of snow for Sunday and Monday and possibly more through midweek.

The weather service issued a winter weather advisory for 6 a.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday with 3 to 5 inches of snow expected in parts of southeaste­rn Wisconsin.

Due to anticipate­d slippery conditions, the weather service has also issued a hazardous weather outlook for Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Iowa, Dane, Jefferson, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Lafayette, Green, Rock, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties.

In Milwaukee, temperatur­es are expected to remain at or below freezing for most of the week and more snow is expected after Monday.

On Sunday, 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected to fall after 4 a.m., with a high temperatur­e of 27. Sunday night will see a low of 19, with an 80 percent chance of 1 to 2 inches of additional snow before 3 a.m. Monday.

On Monday, cloudy skies and a high of 25 is expected, with a 40 percent chance of snow before noon. Monday night is expected to be cloudy with a low of 11.

Tuesday will be sunny with a high of around 26, and there is a 70 percent chance snow will return after midnight.

The snow will continue Wednesday, with a 90 percent chance of snow falling before noon and a high of 32. There is a 30 percent chance snow will continue into Wednesday night with a low of 23.
