Carrie Underwood

- — Jon M. Gilbertson

Style: Very pop-oriented country music delivered by a downhome diva who’s expert in the combination.

Why you should go: Oklahoma native Carrie Underwood is the most successful “American Idol’ alumnus ever, having sold nearly 70 million records worldwide and collected enough awards to fill a trophy case bigger than the average one-bedroom apartment. Her latest album, last year’s “Cry Pretty,” has topped charts in several countries and spun off three singles so far. This queen of 21st-century country will not, however, disdain previous hits like “Before He Cheats,” “Good Girl” and “Church Bells,” any of which will allow her to show off her voice and her backwoodsto-boulevard artistic mien.

Openers: Maddie & Tae, a Nashville-based female duo, and Runaway June, a Nashvillebased female trio.

Time and place: 7 p.m. Thursday, Fiserv Forum. Price: $46 to $198.91.
