Eagles promote Presutti
Marquette men’s basketball coach Steve Wojciechowski didn’t have to look far to find an assistant coach.
The school announced on Tuesday that Jake Presutti was promoted to assistant from director of basketball operations. Presutti replaces Brett Nelson, who was named head coach at Holy Cross last week.
“Jake has been an incredible worker and passionate member of our program since the beginning,” Wojciechowski said in a statement. “He’s starred in his role and earned the opportunity to be an assistant coach. He has a great connection with our players, is a tireless worker and brings an incredible amount of basketball knowledge to our program.”
Presutti’s has been on Wojciechowski’s staff since the 2014-15 season. He was promoted to director of basketball operations and video coordinator in May 2017.
The director of operations job involves many aspects of the program, including film, statistics, logistics and helping with summer camps.
Presutti is a native of Belmont, New York, He was a team manager, walk-on and eventually a scholarship player at Syracuse. He was also a graduate assistant under Jim Boeheim.
His previous jobs include director of player development at Eastern Michigan and as an assistant in the Houston Rockets’ basketball operations.
Dan Madhavapallil was promoted from assistant video coordinator to director of basketball operations.
Madhavapallil has been involved with the MU team since he was a team manager under former head coach Buzz Williams. Wojciechowski promoted him to program assistant after Madhavapallil graduated from MU in 2016. He has spent the last two seasons as assistant video coordinator.
“Dan has been a staple of our program since before I arrived here,” Wojciechowski said in a statement. “There hasn’t been a day where I have felt like Dan hasn’t given everything had had to our program. He bleeds Marquette blue & gold, he’s an incredible worker and will do anything to help our program.”
