Parade of Homes to showcase latest trends
Twenty new houses showcasing some of the latest trends will be on display next month during the annual Parade of Homes hosted by the Metropolitan Builders Association.
The Parade of Homes, now in its 74th year, runs from Aug. 10 through Labor Day.
Work is underway now on the houses, which are located in three suburban subdivisions: Aero Park, a Westridge Builders development in Menomonee Falls; White Oak Conservancy, a Zach Building Co. development in the Town of Delafield; and Twin Pine Farm, which is being developed by Point Real Estate in the Town of Lisbon. Seventeen builders are putting up the 20 houses. According to the Metropolitan Builders Association, the Parade of Homes will feature some of the newest house trends, such as open-concept ranches, smart home technology, technology centers, finished lower levels, media rooms/gaming centers, mudrooms, multi-generational suites and sustainable materials.
The homes, which include two-story houses and ranches, range in size from 2,100 to 8,475 square feet.
The local builders’ group said more than 35,000 visitors are expected to tour the homes over the three-week event.
Visitors interested in building or buying a new home, remodeling or gathering ideas for home improvement projects will have the opportunity to talk with some of the area’s top experts in the field, the organization said.
Parade of Homes tickets allow entry into each of the three subdivisions once. They are available at Parade entrances and at mbaparadeofhomes.com. They cost $15 for adults, and $7 for seniors 65 and older and children 3 to 12. Children younger than 3 are admitted free.
The Parade runs Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and weekends and Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Special events and promotions will be held throughout the event.
