UW-Whitewater had a test Saturday that was pretty difficult to pass.

The Warhawks, ranked No. 3 by D3football.com, had to reel off 17 unanswered points to get past Concordia-Moorhead, 20-10, in a nonconfere­nce game at Jake Christians­en Stadium in Moorhead, Minnesota. Whitewater kicker Wojciech Gasienica booted a 33yard field goal with 10 minutes 24 seconds left in the third quarter to give the Warhawks a 13-10 lead. Zach Oles scampered 14-yards on a quarterbac­k draw to help the Warhawks take a 20-10 lead with 4:59 left. UW-Whitewater (2-0) forced four turnovers en route to victory over the Cobbers (0-2).

UW-LaCrosse 33, Illinois Wesleyan 27: Linebacker Rusty Murphy returned a fumble 86 yards for a touchdown in the second overtime and the 23rd-ranked Eagles (2-0) edged the 14th-ranked Titans (0-1). Murphy forced the fumble on the pass play at the 12-yard line.

Bethel 38, River Falls 20: Jaran Roste threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns and the 10th-ranked Royals (2-0) dispatched the host Falcons (1-1). UW-Stevens Point 31, Wabash (Ind.) 28: Matt Urmanski threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Devin Baldridge with 1:23 to go and the host Pointers (1-1) upset the 21st-ranked Little Giants (0-1).

St. Norbert 27, UW-Eau Claire 21: Gage McClanahan threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns and the Green Knights (1-1) downed the visiting Blugolds (1-1).

Salisbury (Md.) 24, UW-Oshkosh 19: The host Sea Gulls (2-0) reeled off the game’s first 24 points and then held off the Titans (1-1), who scored all their points in the fourth quarter.

Crown 23, Beloit 6: Avory Caruthers rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown to lead the host Storm (1-1) past the Buccaneers (0-2) at Old National Bank Stadium in Old National Bank Stadium.

Carlton 20, Lawrence 10: Beau Nelson threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns as the Knights (2-0) rolled past the Vikings (1-1) at the Banta Bowl in Appleton. Ripon 45, Finlandia 12: Austin Bunders rushed for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the visiting Red Hawks (1-1) to a romp past the Lions (0-2) at McAfee Field in Hancock, Michigan.

Lawrence Tech 34, Wisconsin Lutheran 14: Tyler Kulka threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns and the host Blue Devils (1-1) routed the Warriors (0-2). Concordia 31, Augsburg 0: James Linn threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 117 yards to lead the visiting Falcons (1-0) to a victory over the Augies (0-1).
