RESTAURANTS: Sushi coming to Milwaukee Street
A sushi restaurant is planned for a former downtown Milwaukee sports bar, according to city records. The restaurant, Ninja MKE, is to open in the former Catch 22 Bar and Grill, 770-772 N. Milwaukee St., according to a tavern license application filed with the city clerk’s office. It would be operated by Lichai Chen, who also operates Ninja Hibachi Sushi Steakhouse, N88 W15575 Main St., Menomonee Falls. Ninja MKE is to open in June after the former Catch 22 space is remodeled, the application said. The two-story space has been vacant since Catch 22 closed in 2015.
