How to get $10 ‘Hamilton’ tickets at Milwaukee’s Marcus Center

Milwaukee’s Marcus Performing Arts Center will have a daily digital lottery during the run of the musical “Hamilton” Oct. 22-Nov. 17, giving winners their shot to buy a pair of tickets for $10 each for each performanc­e.

If you want to be in the room where it happens, here are answers to the questions, according to a media release issued by the Marcus Performing Arts Center and its Broadway partners.

Where can I sign up?

It’s strictly a digital lottery. You will need to use either the “Hamilton” app, available for iOS and Android devices through their respective online stores, or register at hamiltonmu­ lottery.

Who is eligible to enter the digital ticket lottery?

People 18 years and older, with a valid photo ID that matches the name used to enter the lottery.

When can I enter the digital lottery?

The lottery for each performanc­e begins at 11 a.m. two days before a specific performanc­e. For example, the lottery for the Oct. 22 performanc­e begins at 11 a.m. Oct. 20. The lottery entry period closes at 9 a.m. the day before the performanc­e. So, for the Oct. 22 show, the lottery ends at 9 a.m. Oct. 21.

How many times can I enter for each performanc­e?

Only one entry allowed per person.

How will I find out if I won the digital lottery?

Both winners and non-winners will be notified about 11 a.m. the day before the performanc­e by email and text message (if you provided that info).

If I win, how many tickets can I buy?

Winner can purchase up to two tickets at $10 each. Winners can purchase one or two tickets online with a credit card until 4 p.m. that same day. Tickets not claimed by 4 p.m. will be forfeited.

Where can I pick up my tickets?

They will be available at will call at the Marcus Performing Arts Center beginning two hours before show time. You will need to bring a valid photo ID.

Can I resell my lottery tickets?


Forty tickets will be sold for $10 for each performanc­e.

The Marcus Center run will include 32 “Hamilton” performanc­es. In a recent subscriber newsletter, the Marcus Center said best remaining availabili­ty for regularly priced tickets is in the Nov. 5-17 period.

Milwaukee will host the second national touring company of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop musical, dubbed the “Philip” tour by its producers. Joseph Morales, a Hamilton alternate in the Chicago production, is playing the title role in this company.
