Player of the week
Estevan Colin, Delavan-Darien: The sophomore forward scored eight goals last week to lead the Comets to victories over Badger, Waterford and Pius XI. Six of those goals came in a 9-3 victory over Pius XI, which was ranked No. 8 in the Division 3 state coaches poll at the time.
The goals are part of a big sophomore season for Colin, who has 42 goals and nine assists this season.
Team of the week Nicolet
The Knights went 3-0 last week to extend their winning streak to eight games. They defeated Cedarburg, Sun Prairie and Catholic Memorial by a combined score of 9-0 to extend their streak of scoreless games to four. The key win was a 3-0 victory over Cedarburg on Wednesday that leaves the Knights with a two-point lead in the North Shore Conference standings. Junior keeper Sullivan Woods had five saves in the match. Juniors Ethan Vondra and Will Navarre and senior Owen Porter scored goals.
Kenosha Bradford at Kenosha Tremper, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday: Bradford, which suffered its first Southeast Conference loss last week, can maintain a hold of the league lead with a victory.
Pewaukee at Greendale, 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday: A big week for Greendale, the Woodland's first-place team, continues with a match against the Pirates, who entered the week in third place.
Oconomowoc at Arrowhead, 6:30 p.m. Thursday: The Classic 8 crown is within reach for Arrowhead, but it must win this game and defeat Waukesha West on Oct. 15.
Whitefish Bay at Shorewood, 1 p.m. Saturday: This non-conference matchup features state-ranked sides from Divisions 2 and 3, respectively.
