Gerald R. O'Conner II, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 1400 block of North Lincoln Memorial Drive shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the report.

O'Conner was northbound with a group of riders when he attempted to either pass the others or go onto the sidewalk before losing control and striking the pole, according to the report.
