Farms and small producers where you can buy meat
If you’re buying meat from a small farm or butcher shop, plan ahead. Not all farmers allow on-site pickup, and ones who do may have limited hours. Call or schedule an appointment before heading to a farm.
Before you buy, make sure you have enough freezer space. Stand-alone freezers are out of stock at many retailers, yet if you’re ordering a half or quarter animal you’ll need freezer space. If you’re picking up at a drop-off point or on-farm rather than having meats shipped or delivered, most farmers suggest bringing a cooler for transport.
