(Fogle pleaded guilty in November 2015 to one count each of distributi­ng and receiving child porn and traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a child, and was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison.)

One year ago: After five years of delays, New York City’s police department fired Daniel Pantaleo, the officer involved in the chokehold death of Eric Garner during an arrest over alleged sales of untaxed cigarettes.
