CELTICS 126, Grizzlies 126 : Jaylen Brown had a career-high 42 points, scoring 18 in the second quarter when Boston pulled away to earn its 10th straight victory over Memphis. Brown matched his career best of 34 points with three minutes left in the third. Jonas Valanciuna­s had 20 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis. NETS 145, Hawks 141 : Kyrie Irving shook off three rough quarters to score 17 of his 25 points in the fourth, Kevin Durant had 33 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, and Brooklyn handed Atlanta its first loss. Trae Young had 30 points, 11 assists and six rebounds, and John Collins had 30 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks. HEAT 119, Bucks 108 : Miami engineered a 58-point turnaround against Milwaukee in 24 hours. And just like that, an embarrassi­ng loss was avenged. Goran Dragic scored 26 points off the bench, Bam Adebayo finished with 22 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds and the Heat beat the Bucks – one day after Milwaukee made an NBA-record 29 3-pointers on the way to a 47-point romp on Miami’s home floor. Hornets at MAVERICKS (late) : Dallas and Charlotte meet in non-conference action. Dallas went 43-32 overall with a 20-18 record at home in the 2019-20 season. The Mavericks allowed opponents to score 112.1 points per game and shoot 45.8% from the field last season. Charlotte finished 23-42 overall with a 13-21 record on the road in the 2019-20 season. The Hornets averaged 16.2 points off of turnovers, 13.4 second chance points and 33.8 bench points last season. Lakers at SPURS (late) : DeMar DeRozan and San Antonio host LeBron James and Los Angeles. San Antonio finished 32-39 overall and 19-15 at home during the 2019-20 season. The Spurs averaged 15.7 points off of turnovers, 11 second chance points and 45.4 bench points last season. Los Angeles went 52-19 overall and 36-10 in Western Conference action in the 2019-20 season. Trail Blazers at CLIPPERS (late) : Paul George and Los Angeles host CJ McCollum and Portland. Los Angeles finished 49-23 overall and went 27-9 at home during the 2019-20 season. Portland went 35-39 overall and 20-27 in Western Conference action a season ago.
