- Tom Daykin

Water technology manufacturer Xylem Sanitaire Products is moving its Brown Deer operation to Milwaukee’s Global Water Center.

Xylem Sanitaire, which makes diffusers and other biological-based wastewater treatment projects, will be moving its office this spring from 9333 N. 49th St. to the water center, 247 W. Freshwater Way, according to an announcement from The Water Council.

The company is leasing 8,600 square feet. It will house around 50 people involved with engineering, product management, operations, research and development and sales.

Moving the office to the water center will make it easier to partner with water council members, said Michael Maierle, director of global project execution/ treatment division.

“With the emphasis on innovation and R&D, coupled with the location and unique space, we feel attracting top talent will be an added beneficial outcome,” Maierle said, in a statement.

Xylem’s presence also creates opportunities for the council “to build closer ties and expand our engagement with one of the world’s strongest and diverse water technology companies,” said Dean Amhaus, council president and chief executive officer.

The water center is now over 85% occupied with the new lease.

The Rye Brook, New York-based company’s Xylem Flygt facility in Pewaukee is not relocating.
