Greater Metro stands tall on all-state team Division 3 Division 5
The Greater Metro Conference won its second straight Division 1 state title last week and then left a major impression on the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association all-state team.
The association announced its selections Monday and in Division 1 five of the 10 spots on the first team went to players from the league: seniors Hayden Doyle of Brookfield East, David Joplin of Brookfield Central, Brian Parzych of Wauwatosa East and Tanner Resch of Sussex Hamilton plus Menomonee Falls junior Seth Trimble.
In addition to Tosa East, Pewaukee (Division 2) and Racine St. Catherine’s (Division 3) won state title last week. All three teams are well represented on the all-state lists.
• In addition to Parzych, who made the first team, Tosa East’s Jay Hinson Jr. and Charles Alexander Singleton made the honorable mention.
• Pewaukee sophomore Milan Momcilovic,
the Woodland West player of the year, earned first-team distinction. Juniors Ashton Janowski and Josh Terrian received honorable mention.
• Racine St. Catherine’s Tyrese Hunter and Kamari McGee were named to the first team.
Players were honored in the division their team was classified by the WIAA at the start of the season.
