Team announces single-game ticket sales

- Tom Haudricourt

With fan capacity increasing to 100% for the Milwaukee Brewers beginning June 25, the team announced details Friday for the availability of singlegame tickets as well as the full promotional schedule for all remaining home games.

“These are things we normally do before the season, in February, so it's a little different to be doing this in May,” Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger said Friday. “But we're very excited to be talking about 100% capacity and selling tickets."

How to get tickets

Single-game tickets will be available in three phases:

» For games scheduled through Thursday, May 27, tickets are now on sale.

» For games scheduled for Monday, May 31, through Wednesday, June 16, with capacity at 50%, tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22.

» For games scheduled Friday, June 25 through Sunday, Sept. 26, tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 4.

Single-game tickets are available at brewers.com, 1-800-933-7890 and the American Family Field box office.

“We're at 50% capacity for games starting tomorrow," Schlesinger said. "The big news is that on June 4 we're going on sale for all games beginning June 25 at full capacity. Those that are interested in group opportunities and season tickets for partial plans, those are on sale for all games right now.

“We're going to have a 43-game partial plan, which is the first time we've ever done something like that. That represents the 43 games that we're at full capacity, starting June 25. So, a lot of moving parts. It's great to be back in business at full capacity.”

Current Brewers season seat holders and suite holders will be contacted about their options for attending games, and Schlesinger said one of the benefits of going back to 100% will be putting those loyal patrons in their original seats.

“We have thousands of season seat holders that have to be relocated, they have to pick their games,” Schlesinger said. “These people have been very patient since December. That's why it's taking some time to reconfigure everything.

"That process has to be completed, then we have to figure out what single tickets we have available."

Vendors will be back, and so will bobbleheads

And, in news that many fans will welcome with open hands, Schlesinger said, “Starting June 25, we're allowed to have vendors in the stands, which I know has been a topic of great interest. The jobs that are given to these vendors and the convenience for our fans is another sign of things getting back to normal.

"Not every vendor can work every game but there's a pool of about 60 to 75 vendors that dispense food and beverages in the stands. I'm expecting large crowds (beginning June 25) so I'm expecting a lot of vendors. I have no worries that we'll be able to fully staff the building and make it a great experience. That's critical."

Bobblehead games, available to the first 35,000 fans, will include:

» Hank Aaron on June 6

» Christian Yelich on June 13 and Aug.

8

More fans will soon be at American Family Field. The Brewers announced ticket sales and promotions for the full season Friday.

» Paul Molitor on June 27

» Robin Yount on July 11

» Lorenzo Cain on July 25

» Ben Sheets on Aug. 22

» Ryan Braun on Sept. 5

» Special audible Bob Uecker bobblehead on Sept. 26.

“It's been almost two years since our last bobblehead promotion,” Schlesinger said. “For Brewers fans, that's like going two years without brats and a beer.”

The Brewers will hold theme nights such as Peanuts, Top Gun, Hawaiian Shirt and Star Wars. There also will be community nights including Pride Night, Cerveceros Night and the Negro Leagues tribute game. The club also will honor its 50-plus years as a franchise with designated “Decade Weekends” throughout out season.

Will masks be required?

As for whether mask policies will remain in effect with full-capacity crowds, Schlesinger said, “Major League Baseball in the last few days dropped the rule requiring masks at all ballparks. Now, it's within the jurisdiction of each health department.

“We know the health department here is considering changes. The CDC just announced (vaccinated) people outside are relatively safe and don't need to wear masks. So, we're waiting for some guidance and updates. From my perspective, the ultimate sign of back to normal is when we can congregate in large numbers at American Family Field without masks. I have no doubt we can do that safely.”
