Billy Idol, Gabriel Iglesias added to Wisconsin State Fair’s headliner lineup

The Wisconsin State Fair has lined up another Idol for this year’s Main Stage lineup.

Rocker Billy Idol will headline the Main Stage at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8, the fair announced Friday. An opening act will be announced later.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. May 20 at at $40, $45 and $50. Each ticket includes admission to the Wisconsin State Fair for Aug. 8.

The fair also announced Friday that comedian Gabriel Iglesias will headline the fair’s Main Stage at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. May 20 at Tickets are $39, $49 and $54, and include admission to the fair on Aug. 12.

Friday’s news capped three days of headliner updates from the fair. The others announced this week: Hank Williams Jr., the Main Stage’s closingnig­ht headliner Aug. 15 (tickets, $52 to $57); Foreigner with opener Asia, on Aug. 10 ($45 to $50); and Casting Crowns, on Aug. 9 ($29 to $39). Tickets for those shows also go on sale at 9 a.m. May 20 at the fair’s website.

The 2021 Wisconsin State Fair, which runs Aug. 5-15, has just about filled its Main Stage dance card. Five shows that had been set for the 2020 fair rolled over to this year’s event: Skillet (Aug. 5), Chris Young (Aug. 6), the Brothers Osborne (Aug. 11), Boyz II Men (Aug. 13) and the Beach Boys (Aug. 14). Tickets for those shows are on sale at the State Fair website.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wisconsin State Fair was canceled in 2020 for the first time in 75 years. Safety protocols for this year’s have yet to be announced.
