45 top girls basketball players in the state

The talent in Wisconsin high school girls basketball is as strong and deep as ever in the 2021-22 season. Here are 45 of the top players in the state, as determined by high school statistics and awards, college offers, coaches' evaluation and opinions of others who report on prep girls basketball.

Abbie Aalsma, sr., Waupun

The 5-foot-8 guard has been a model of consistenc­y, averaging 20.6, 19.5 and 19.9 points per game from her freshman-through-junior years, respective­ly. She will play at Illinois State next year.

KK Arnold, jr., Germantown

One of the best players in Wisconsin in recent memory. The 2021 Gatorade state player of the year committed to Connecticu­t last month. Arnold averaged 22.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 3.7 steals for the state champion Warhawks last year.

Antionique Auston, jr., Sun Prairie

A fast-rising 2023 prospect, Auston holds offers from Bradley, Montana State, Green Bay and Duquesne.

JJ Barnes, fr., The Prairie School

One of the highest-rated freshmen in the country, she has offers from Illinois, Marquette, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Xavier. She is averaging 23.9 points seven games into her prep career.

Jacia Cunningham, sr., Milwaukee School of Languages

One of the best players in Milwaukee, Cunningham returns after Milwaukee Public Schools did not have a season in 2020-21. The Chicago State recruit averaged 12.8 points as a sophomore and scored 34 in her opener this year.

Audrey Deptula, jr., Middleton

Deptula played a shortened season last year as Middleton got in just nine games, but she picked up an offer from Loyola Chicago over the summer.

Clare Diener, sr., Cedarburg

Diener isn't afraid to let it fly. The Division II Rockhurst recruit averaged 20 points last year and took 149 threes, connecting at a 41.6% clip. The 5-10 guard nearly averaged a double-double with nine boards per game.

Abbie Dix, jr., Brodhead-Juda

The 5-11 forward was a double-double machine with an average of 17.6 points and 9.8 rebounds a year ago.

Macy Donarski, jr., La Crosse Aquinas

The younger sister of former Miss Basketball Lexi Donarski, Macy was a firstteam all-state pick in Division 4 after averaging 19.7 points and 7 assists as a sophomore. Committed to Saint Louis.

MaKenzie Drout, jr., Kimberly

A 5-9 guard, Drout has a handful of D-I offers and has a plethora of other schools interested. Averaged 12 points and 6.1 rebounds as a sophomore.

Jada Eggebrecht, sr., Phillips

The Division 4 all-state honorable mention honoree averaged 24.6 points, 6 rebounds and 4.7 steals last year. She is committed to Division II Minnesota State Mankato.

Madison Fitzgibbon, fr., Homestead

Fitzgibbon, a 5-6 guard, averaged 22.6 points with 28 made threes through her first eight games as a high schooler.

Grace Grocholski, jr., Kettle Moraine

Grocholski, an Arizona State recruit, was a first-team all-state honoree in Division 1 last year. Also a volleyball standout, she has scored more than 1,000 points in just over two seasons.

Gracie Grzesk, soph., Green Bay Notre Dame

The lone freshman on the D2 all-state team last year, Grzesk already has garnered a host of D-I scholarshi­p offers. She averaged 12 points and 4.2 rebounds for the state champions.

Allison Hampel, jr., Greenfield

The conference player of the year in 2020-21, Hampel averaged 16.5 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.4 blocks as a versatile 5-10 forward.

Lily Hansford, sr., Appleton East

She averaged 13.1 points and 4.6 rebounds en route to second-team allconfere­nce honors as a junior. Committed to Oregon State, choosing the Beavers over a dozen other D-I offers.

Sarah Hardwick, sr., Green Bay Notre Dame

Joining her teammate Grzesk on the D2 all-state first team was Hardwick, a UW-Oshkosh recruit who averaged 11.3 points and 6.4 rebounds as a junior.

Alaina Harper, sr., Arrowhead

One of the most dominant post presences in the state is the 6-3 Harper. She averaged 14.3 points as a junior for the Classic 8 champion Warhawks.

Mallory Hoitink, jr., Slinger

The sharpshoot­er holds D-I offers from Binghamton, North Dakota, Northern Illinois and San Jose State.

Nakiyah Hurst, sr., Milwaukee Academy of Science

Hurst, a North Dakota recruit, averaged 19.6 points during her last full season as a sophomore. For her career she is averaging 17.5 points and 10.8 rebounds.

Lyric Johnson, sr., Hortonvill­e

An honorable-mention all-state pick, Johnson averaged 16.2 points last year and committed to Eastern Illinois.

Mckenna Johnson, soph., Wilmot

Johnson establishe­d herself as one of the top 2024 players in the state, averaging 18.6 points and 7.3 rebounds and earning an offer from Michigan State.

Lily Krahn, sr., Prairie du Chien

The Wisconsin recruit earned first-team all-D3 honors as a junior. Krahn, a 5-10 guard, has averaged more than 20 points each of the last two years.

Emily La Chapell, sr., Appleton East

One of the most coveted senior recruits in the state committed to Marquette in March. The 5-11 wing averaged 19.5 points as a junior and became the city of Appleton's all-time leading scorer.

Leah Lemke, sr., Wrightstow­n

Lemke, a 5-8 guard, averaged 19.8 points and nearly six assists en route to all-state recognitio­n last year.

Ellie Magestro Kennedy, jr., Janesville Craig

The 5-7 guard committed to IUPUI and is averaging 23.9 points this year.

Mya Moore, sr., Pius XI

Moore averaged 15.6 points and 9.4 rebounds a year ago. Committed to D-I Seattle.

Jordan Meulemans, sr., De Pere

The Butler recruit earned all-state firstteam honors with a 20.7 scoring average a year ago.

Sarah Newcomer, sr., Pewaukee

She committed to D-II Northern Michigan over a pair of D-I offers. Newcomer has hit 117 threes while shooting 40% coming into the season.

Julianna Ouimette, jr., Lakeland

The 5-9 guard averaged 26.5 points, 6.8 steals, 5.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists as a sophomore. She earned honorablem­ention all-state honors in D2 and holds multiple D-I offers.

Kristina Ouimette, fr., Lakeland

Ouimette is a name to know for the future. She picked up four D-I offers, including from Illinois and Wisconsin, before playing her first varsity game.

Kamy Peppler, sr., Hortonvill­e

Peppler, a 5-6 guard, is a standout defensive player committed to UW-Milwaukee. She averaged 14.8 points and 3 steals last season.

Kayl Petersen, soph., Waupun

Scored 14.8 points and grabbed 8.1 rebounds per game as a freshman and picked up five D-I offers. Averaging 22.2 points this season.

Tieryn Plasch, jr., Northweste­rn

Earned honorable-mention all-state accolades after averaging 19.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.0 steals.

Lily Randgaard, sr., Kettle Moraine

The 5-10 guard is committed to Western Illinois and averaged 11 points last year. Randgaard is a career 39% threepoint shooter.

Jordana Reisma, sr., Brown Deer

A 6-2 forward, Reisma is committed to Cleveland State. She averaged a double-double with 15.3 points and 12.8 rebounds as a junior.

Makenna Rohrscheib, sr., Eau Claire Regis

Rohrscheib averaged 18.7 points in 2020-21 en route to D4 honorablem­ention all-state accolades.

Grace Schmidt, sr., Watertown Luther Prep

Schmidt has scored 1,339 points through her first three seasons while shooting 52%. She is the latest Wisconsin player to sign with D-I Cal Baptist.

Meghan Schultz, jr., New Berlin West

Few in the state are more imposing than the 6-4 Schultz. As a sophomore, she averaged 19 points on 56.2% shooting and nine boards. Multiple D-I programs have extended offers.

Taylor Stremlow, soph., Verona

Stremlow is among the top sophomores in the state and helped lead Verona to state as a freshman. The Division 1 allstate honorable mention pick holds offers from Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Marquette, Wisconsin and more. She is out indefinite­ly with an injury.

Ally Timm, soph., DSHA

A class of 2024 name to keep an eye on, Timm picked up her first D-I offer from North Dakota State last week. An excellent defender, she averaged 10.5 points and 5.9 rebounds as a freshman.

Braelyn Torres, jr., Kettle Moraine

One of the toughest defenders in the state, Torres is the consummate point guard. She averaged 12.4 points and 3.5 assists for a sectional-qualifying Lasers team last year.

Jacy Weisbrod, sr., La Crosse Aquinas

Weisbrod, a D-I Northern Colorado recruit, averaged 19.6 points last year for the D3 state runner-up. One of the better shooters in the state, she hit 99 threes at a 47.1% clip.

Mahra Wieman, sr., Reedsburg

Wiehman averaged 20.2 points for the D2 state runner-up Beavers and amassed 1,127 points through her first three seasons.

Allie Ziebell, soph., Neenah

One of the top class of 2024 players in the country, Ziebell earned a spot on the D1 all-state first team last year. The 6-foot wing averaged 19.8 points and 6.1 boards for the Rockets and already holds multiple D-I offers.
