Brewers announce minor-league staffs
The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Tuesday their player development staffs for the 2022 season, including a promotion for manager Joe Ayrault from low Class A Carolina to high Class A Wisconsin.
Ayrault, who managed the Mudcats for five seasons, replaces Matt Erickson, who was promoted to the Brewers’ staff as assistant hitting and infield coach. The Brewers also named a new pitching coach at Class AAA Nashville, Jeremy Accardo, who replaces Jim Henderson, now the big-league bullpen coach.
The new manager for Carolina will be Victor Estevez, who spent the past six seasons managing the Dominican Summer League Brewers. He will be replaced by Natanael Mejia, who had been a coach in the D.R. for three years.
The Brewers also promoted Brenton Del Chiaro to minor-league hitting coordinator, replacing Sara Goodrum, who had been the first female in that role in the minors before leaving to join Houston’s front office.
New additions to the Phoenix-based staff are performance science director Daniel Greenwood, and strength and conditioning director Isaac Salazar. Jason Meredith transferred from the Brewers’ staff to become rehabilitation strength and conditioning specialist in Phoenix.
Spencer Allen joins the roving minorleague staff as assistant field coordinator and outfield and baserunning instructor.
